I studied the plant for a full twelve months before painting this just divine specimen. The scent that rose up for its gorgeous tulip shape petals was heavenly, I wish I could find a perfume as
good! From the deepest tones so rich they were almost black to the mid tones of true magenta, I will be painting another.

Created on Arches 300gsm using Windsor and Newton professional watercolour paint. The artwork has been professionally positioned on white matting board.
